What it is ho. It’s 1:15 Tuesday night of finals week. I’ve got 473 at 7:30 Thursday morning, and then some online shit for mngt 331 that night. Then I’m done. Looks like tomorrow is a long day of studying some risk theory; aggregate loss models and whatnot. I’m pretty tired of studying, but it’s close to being over.
In other news, I’m sweet. I’m generally in pretty good spirits these days. I am kinda down about a thing or two, but I’ve learned to deal. Each day you’re not dead has got to be a good one, right? I’m mean that’s positivity on the most basic level. Plus I’ve really started to look forward to my future as well, and it’s becoming a little bit more tangible with all these interviews. Everyone I’m talking to seems to be both very well off financially, and genuinely thrilled to be actuaries. It’s something nice to look forward to. Granted, now that I’ve seen it, I feel pretty dumb about fucking up stats and having to stay an extra semester, which is basically 7 extra months with the summer. Oh well though. I get to intern this way, and hopefully the job market is looking a little better by then. Anyhow I’ve gotten off track. After Thursday it’ll be Christmas and I’ll be officially 2 semesters away from graduating, and hopefully one away from a sweet internship.
Also, one interesting development. As anyone who has hung out around me at night realizes, my “door ajar” sensor hasn’t worked for 3 years. It never recognizes that the driver’s side door is shut. That means the light stays on for about an hour after i shut my truck off every time. Somehow the battery never died. Well lately the battery has been hanging on for dear life after 3 years of that crap. Yesterday morning it didn’t start, which was obviously influenced by the fact that it got down to 5 below that night. Anyway I went to Wal-Mart to buy a battery tonight. While I was there I decided to chance it and just buy jumper cables, and then see if I could figure out how to fix it. I googled “2000 Ford Ranger door sensor” and I got about 20 results all saying the same thing: just spray some WD40 in the latch. I figured there was no way that would work, but I tried it, and I’ll be damned. It took one spray and it works now. Three years of ruining my battery and people occassionally knocking on my door at 3 am and that’s all it took. Pretty sweet.
